About

I’m a Cuban-American, Brooklyn-based filmmaker, writer and photographer. I have a BFA in Film and TV Production, with a Second Major in History from NYU/Tisch. And more recently, I completed an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School.

I’ve worked in both narrative and commercial film/tv/video production in a broad range of roles, including director, director of photography, editor and screenwriter. I’ve had the opportunity to serve as the DP for two indie feature films. I’ve created short films that have played at film festivals around the country. And I’ve directed web content that has gained substantial online viewership.

I’ve worked as a photographer across many settings. My commercial photography has appeared in major publications. I have extensive experience with headshot and portrait photography. I’m also an avid street photographer.

I’m excited to begin a new chapter of my writing journey as the co-author of a new picture book, Pepita Meets Bebita, which was published simultaneously in English and Spanish by Knopf/Penguin Random House. I’m also at work on my first novel.

I’m a passionate teacher, and am currently a faculty instructor at Stonestreet Studios, NYU/Tisch Drama’s advanced conservatory for screen acting.

I’m an aspiring vegetarian, try not to care too much about sports (but being born and raised in Ann Arbor, I’ll always have room in my heart for Michigan football and the Detroit Pistons), and love reality TV and fancy/artsy/film nerd movies in equal measure. My wife and I are raising two beautiful girls, and a very cute and very rambunctious dog.
